Citizen On Patrol

Norco Citizens Patrol is a team of trained volunteers who enhance crime prevention services and community awareness through proactive law enforcement practices.

Citizen Patrol members do not take enforcement action, carry weapons or make arrests. Suspicious activity is reported to the Sheriff's Department's Dispatch Center.

Qualifications

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Good moral character
  • Good driving record
  • No felony convictions
  • US Citizen

 

 

 

Requirements

  • Wear approved uniform
  • Attend monthly Citizen Patrol Meetings
  • Two patrol members per vehicle
  • Volunteer 16 hours per month
  • Appear professional at all times
  • Pass Citizen Patrol Training
  • Pass background check
  • Have medical and vehicle insurance
  • Have a valid California Drivers License

  • Orientation and Organization
  • Crime Prevention
  • CPR and First Aid
  • Introduction to Law
  • Driver Awareness
  • Patrol Procedures
  • Traffic Control
